Dan Bernstone

Dan’s country roots go back to the 80s where he regularly took out country music awards on the circuit in New Zealand as a young fella, including a coveted Gold Guitar award. A career in radio that started at 16 years old and has spanned three decades, he’s recruited a stellar lineup of country-loving broadcasters to bring you Southern Cross Country. Dan hosts the weekday show from 10-2.

Mike Puru

With three decades on the airwaves, Mike is a household name having worked on The Edge, The Hits and Flava. Hailing from Gore, the country capital of New Zealand, Mike was born with country in his bones. He has hosted the Gold Guitar Awards in his hometown for the past 5 years and presents the weather on TV3. He is thrilled to be on air sharing his passion for country music. Mike hosts the weekday breakfast show on Southern Cross Country.

Miranda Easten

A country star and aficionado from Canterbury. As a singer/songwriter, Miranda has worked with many big names and is currently working on her second album which we can’t wait to hear. Having hosted her own country show on Plains FM, we welcome Miranda to the Southern Cross Country family, starting early 2024.

Hamish Denton

You’ll recognize HD’s voice from TV and radio – he’s the voice of TVNZ 1 & 2. Recently touring with The Highwaymen as media liaison and now embarking on his own country singing career under the mentorship of Brendan Dugan. HD comes from a long line of Canterbury sheep and cattle farmers and can’t wait to hit the road with you each weekday afternoon. ‘The Drove with HD’ weekdays 2 – 6pm on Southern Cross Country.

Kix Brooks

The American Country Countdown hosted by superstar Kix Brooks of Brooks & Dunn, is a weekly countdown of country’s Top 30 songs. Kix keeps the music fresh and listeners tuned- in with his insider perspective and behind-the-scenes knowledge of the personalities, events and excitement that make country music. Saturdays from 10am on Southern Cross Country.
